​Student Affairs

The mission of UGA Student Affairs is to enhance the learning environment for students at the University of Georgia by stimulating the learning process, integrating the in-class and out-of-class experiences, promoting an environment conducive to growth and discovery, and facilitating intellectual, spiritual, social, occupational, physical, cultural, and emotional development.

UGA Student Affairs promotes a campus environment that provides quality services and increases student retention and success; attains and exceeds compliance with national standards; and serves as an educational laboratory for graduate students in higher education. Ultimately, Student Affairs works to enhance the overall quality of campus life, establish a sense of community, and enable all students to realize their fullest potential.

The Division of Student Affairs comprises 18 campus departments that enhance the learning environment for students at the University of Georgia by stimulating the learning process, integrating the in-class and out-of-class experiences, promoting an environment conducive to growth and discovery and facilitating intellectual, spiritual, social, occupational, physical, cultural and emotional development. 

The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs:

  • Provides administration, coordination and budgetary supervision for Student Affairs departments
  • Facilitates collaboration between Student Affairs and Academic Affairs to enhance students’ academic, physical and social well-being
  • Develops programs that offer students co-curricular learning opportunities and services that enhance their ability to be successful
  • Coordinates professional development opportunities for Student Affairs personnel
  • Directs Student Affairs’ development initiatives
  • Coordinates Student Affairs’ planning processes and assessment initiatives to promote success and organizational effectiveness
  • Coordinates division-wide communications and marketing initiatives
  • Directs and supports research on various aspects of the undergraduate experience
  • Coordinates student crisis management
  • Serves as liaison for the Campus Ministry Association
  • Advises Golden Key International Honor Society
