Who we are and what we do…

The mission of the Marketing and Communications unit is to provide sound marketing support in the promotion of the programs, services and facilities of the Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS). The unit's goals include: 

  • Rapid response to articulated marketing and web needs from programs and units within ODOS;
  • Building of productive ongoing relationships with clients, including students and staff;
  • Active promotion of ODOS programs and services to media;
  • Monitoring of marketing trends in higher education and specifically in student affairs; and
  • Timely response to unanticipated and/or unspoken communications needs.

Don Reagin Don Reagin
Director of Marketing and Communications

Don Reagin is director of marketing and communications for the Office of the Dean of Students. He holds bachelor’s degrees in broadcast journalism and speech communication and a master’s degree in mass communication, all from the University of Georgia.

Prior to joining Student Affairs, Don worked on the UGA campus as director of corporate communications for the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. He began his professional career as a news reporter for the Clarke Broadcasting Corporation, based in Atlanta and Athens. Don is active in community service and spends his free time collecting vintage music, playing piano and pondering the meaning of life.

Laura Rowan
Web Developer Specialist

Laura Rowan is the web developer for the Office of the Dean of Students. She received her bachelor's degree in Art History from the University of Alabama.

Laura began her career at the Carter Center and then worked in the Russian and East European Studies department at Emory University. She worked developing websites as part of each position she held. She then began designing websites as a career when she helped start and worked for Athens Web Group. She enjoys the challenges in her work and she looks forward to learning new technologies as the web develops and changes.

In her spare time, she enjoys pottery, hiking, travel and spending time with her family.
